360º Tour of Mungo’s New Plett Mill

Beloved South African family-run textile brand Mungo has opened a striking working museum of weaving in Plettenberg Bay that allows the public to see the mill in action.  

This transparency of production not only allows the story of the traditions of pre-industrial and industrial weaving to be shared, but is also the physical embodiment of Mungo’s ethical business practices, supply chain accountability, minimised carbon footprint, and commitment to providing skills and jobs to locals.

The 900-square-metre mill, located on The Old Nick Village property and visible from the N2 between Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth, was designed by architect and land artist Andrea Cristoforetti in collaboration with the family.
